Statement:
Often I shoot a picture as source for what I want the photo to look like once I’ve worked on it. Thus some photos are completely natural
while others have been worked on digitally. This isn’t to manipulate the subject into something it’s not, but rather to emphasize what it is
that I wanted to capture in the first place. My subjects are predominantly urban and I normally create a very high contrast, making the darks
black and the lights white to the point of being washed out. My aim is for subject and presentation to drip with a coarse richness, as I try
to reveal beauty in the broken, discarded, and overlooked. |
